SHIMLA: SJVN has stepped forward with a substantial contribution of Rs. 2 Crores to the Himachal Pradesh Relief Fund.
The funds are intended to provide crucial assistance to the victims affected by the recent devastating floods, triggered by heavy rainfall and destructive landslides in various parts of the state.
The torrential downpours and subsequent flooding have wreaked havoc, resulting in severe disruption to basic amenities and infrastructure, including collapsed homes and bridges. SJVN's Chairman & Managing Director, Sh. Nand Lal Sharma, emphasized the company's unwavering commitment to supporting the government's relief measures.
Sh. Nand Lal Sharma stated, "In this hour of distress, SJVN stands firmly with the people of Himachal Pradesh. We express our solidarity and support to the ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts. Our contribution aims to aid the affected individuals as they endeavor to rebuild their lives in the aftermath of these catastrophic floods."
Notably, SJVN's employees have already shown their compassion by voluntarily donating their one-day salary, totaling around Rs. 55 Lakhs, to the Chief Minister Relief Fund. This collective effort underscores the employees' dedication to assisting the affected communities and amplifies SJVN's commitment to corporate social responsibility.
Sh. Sharma further appealed to the public to generously contribute towards helping those in need during this calamitous situation. He expressed heartfelt condolences for the lives lost and the extensive damage caused by landslides and flash floods.
