SHIMLA: SJVN Director (Personnel) and Chairman of SJVN Foundation, Ajay Kumar Sharma, kicked off the Swachhata Hi Sewa Campaign 2024 by inaugurating a Biodiversity Park near the company’s corporate HQ in Shimla.
Developed under SJVN’s CSR initiative with a budget of ₹2.08 crores, the park features a Children's Park, an Open Gym, and a model 1.3 kW Hydro Power Turbine for educational purposes.
A wall painting titled 'Swabhav Swachhata, Sanskar Swachhata' has been added to promote cleanliness.
During the event, 84 sanitation workers from the Municipal Corporation and SJVN were recognized for their efforts in maintaining cleanliness in areas like Malyana Nallah and Dhobhi Ghat Nallah.
The workers received mementos from Sharma as a token of appreciation for their hard work.
The program also included a Nukkad Natak performed by students from Himachal Pradesh College of Education, focusing on cleanliness, sanitation, and HIV awareness.
Dr. Kriti Sharma from Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital led a session on hygiene, community sanitation, and the prevention of diseases like tuberculosis and HIV.
In honor of National Volunteer Blood Donation Day, Ajay Kumar Sharma urged all employees to spread awareness about blood donation and took a pledge to promote the cause.
