Rohru (Shimla): Public Works and Youth Services and Sports Minister, Vikramaditya Singh has assured that the completion of Theog bypass is on track to meet July 30 deadline.  The construction work on the Chaila-Parala Mandi road has been expedited, and Rohru is experiencing development under the present government.

Speaking as the chief guest at a sports and cultural program organized by the Green Himalaya Foundation at Indira Gandhi Stadium Samala in Rohru, Vikramaditya Singh praised the late former Chief Minister, Virbhadra Singh, for his unwavering dedication to the development of Rohru.

Singh emphasized that the ongoing developmental initiatives in the area will be accelerated, and contractors will face strict measures and a zero-tolerance policy towards negligence.

With the apple season approaching, the maintenance of roads in apple-dominated areas has been prioritized to ensure smooth transportation.

Notably, the construction of the Chaila-Parala Mandi road near Chhaila is progressing rapidly, with instructions to hasten the pace of work, he said.

Vikramaditya Singh disclosed that a budget of Rs 30 crore has been allocated for the Chiyog to Fagu road project, which will greatly benefit the local population.

Furthermore, the third phase of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, with an estimated budget of Rs 2800 crore, is set to commence soon, encompassing the maintenance of approximately 2400 kilometers of roads across the state.

In a significant relief to apple farmers, the government has reduced apple carton prices. Singh announced a grant of Rs 30 lakh for the expansion of Indira Gandhi Sports Ground in Samala and extended Rs 75,000 to the Green Himalaya Foundation in support of their event.

Lok Sabha MP and Congress State President, Pratibha Singh, lauded Virbhadra Singh for his efforts in establishing schools throughout the state, empowering children to receive education and excel in life.

She highlighted the achievements of daughters from the region who now hold prominent positions, attributing their success to Virbhadra Singh's vision and dedication.

Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Mohan Lal Brakta, credited the late former Chief Minister, Raja Virbhadra Singh, for the remarkable developmental accomplishments in the Rohru Assembly Constituency. Brakta emphasized that development is an ongoing process, and the current state government is committed to ensuring comprehensive progress in the area.

Vikramaditya Singh actively participated in the Basheshar Lal Atharta Football Tournament held at Ramlila Maidan in Rohru, accompanied by MLA Shimla Urban, Harish Janartha, Congress party office bearers, government officials, and department employees.
