Shimla Hit by Heavy Rains: 20 Vehicles Buried, Road Blocked for Hours
Shimla: Heavy rains triggered landslides in the city early Tuesday, that uprooted trees which in turn damaged more than 20 vehicles.
The massive slide blocked the Circular Road for nearly six hours, throwing traffic out of gear.
With no movement possible on the city’s main artery, students and office-goers were forced to walk long stretches, reaching their destinations late and exhausted.
Authorities later cleared the road, but the incident once again highlighted Shimla’s growing vulnerability to rain-triggered disasters.
