Massive Damage to HRTC Buses and Depot in Dharampur Disaster: Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri
Mandi: The flood in Sone khad in Dharampur, Mandi district, has caused extensive damage to Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) property and shops.
Nearly two dozen buses along with the bus stand premises have been badly damaged, leaving the Dharampur depot in a state of complete devastation.
The corporation’s pump house, workshop shed, and several shops in the complex have also been wrecked. Fortunately, all HRTC employees are safe.
The flood has exposed that the bus stand was constructed in the flood plains of Sone Khad that has cost the state exchequer dearly.
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, who also holds the transport portfolio, said, “The Dharampur depot has suffered massive losses in this calamity.
Around two dozen buses and key infrastructure, including the workshop and pump house, have been damaged. Officials are on the spot, and a detailed assessment of the losses is underway.”
Agnihotri assured that the government will extend all necessary support to restore the operations of the Dharampur depot at the earliest.
