Rockslide at Jubbal being cleared

As part of the rescue operations, an impressive total of 15,000 vehicles have been pulled out from areas affected by the floods, including the Beas, Parbati, Satluj, and Ravi Rivers.

Despite the challenging circumstances, significant progress has been made in restoring essential services. Currently, water, electricity, and communication have been successfully reinstated in 80% of the affected areas, providing relief to the local population and aiding rescue operations.

Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department (PWD) has taken swift action by blasting two massive rocks that calved in on the road at Louthidhar in Jubbal.

As a result, road clearance efforts are in progress, with traffic expected to resume shortly.

While the majority of tourists have been safely evacuated, there are 500 tourists who have voluntarily chosen to stay back in the state.

Their decision highlights their confidence in the ongoing restoration efforts and their determination to support the local community during this challenging time.

Realizing the magnitude of the damages suffered by logistics and infrastructure, the Himachal Pradesh government has urgently sought assistance from Home Minister Amit Shah. An immediate aid package of Rs 2000 crore has been requested to alleviate the impact of the disaster and support the recovery and rebuilding efforts.
