After the arrest the duo have been have been remanded to nine days police custody after they were produced in the local court. Investigation is on to unravel complete gamut of extortion, said the police.
SIT headed by Rohit Malpani, IPS SP, cyber crime with Gaurav Singh, IPS SP-EOW, Virender Kalia, SP CID-Crime and other police officers was constituted to crack the case which was lodged on January 6, CID, police station Bharari against the accused, Vinay Aggarwal, a fake IGP who used to extort huge money, by visiting industrial areas of Kala-Amb, Baddi, Nalagarh and other areas in HP in the past three years. He has exhorted More than Rs 3 crore from the industrialist, the SIT has revealed.
During the investigation by the SIT, it is revealed that accused Vinay Aggarwal and PSO’s of an officer of Haryana are just conduits. On behalf of some senior officer from Haryana, the gang has extorted huge sum of money for the past several years from many industrialists by coercion, SIT found.
Two uniformed Haryana police personnel Const Ravinder and Jail Warden Jasveer also used to accompany Vinay Aggarwal with automatic weapons.
SIT investigation has unravelled the linkages of the extortion by gang at every level and the involvement of an official from Haryana.
DGP Sanjay Kundu have urged industrialists of Himachal Pradesh who are victims of this gang may come forward to approach the DGP and the SIT, without fear so that justice is done and financial damage caused can be taken care by legal action.
