In a standout performance on the national stage, the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS-112) run by the Himachal Pradesh Police has clinched the second position across India for February 2026—an impressive leap that underlines sharper response, tighter monitoring and team-driven reform.

The achievement marks a dramatic rise in just a few months. From 34th place in November 2025, the state’s ERSS-112 climbed to 21st in December, 9th in January, and now sits No. 2 nationwide—a surge that reflects sustained, ground-level improvements rather than quick fixes.

Director General of Police Ashok Tiwari called the ranking a moment of pride for the force, noting that the turnaround came without additional funds or manpower. “This is the result of commitment, enthusiasm and focused effort by our officers and personnel,” he said.

DGP attributes the gains to a set of practical reforms: daily coordination with ERSS teams, swift troubleshooting of operational snags, shifting the District Command and Control to ERSS Shimla, and close tracking of 112 complaints—from SHOs right up to Range DIGs.

Units showing gaps were identified early and guided to improve.

Congratulating Team ERSS and the wider force, the DGP stressed that the milestone is not the finish line. “We must keep the same energy and discipline to strengthen public trust and service delivery,” he said, adding that despite being a small force with limited resources, Himachal Pradesh Police continues to compete with—and outperform—much larger organizations through unity and resolve.

With momentum firmly on its side, the state police leadership expressed confidence that ERSS-112 will push for even higher benchmarks, reinforcing fast, reliable emergency response for citizens across Himachal Pradesh.
