The meeting comes shortly after Smt. Kapur assumed her role as CMD of SJVN, a leading power company in the country.
During the meeting, Smt. Geeta Kapur provided a comprehensive overview of SJVN's portfolio, operational efficiency, and financial performance.
She also briefed the Chief Secretary on the status of various ongoing projects undertaken by the company within the state.
Seeking the support of the state government, she emphasized the importance of collaboration for the successful execution of both operational and under-construction projects, aiming to drive socio-economic development across the state.
Highlighting SJVN's pivotal role, Smt. Geeta Kapur also discussed the implementation progress of the recently launched Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana (Rooftop Solar Scheme).
Under this initiative, the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has designated SJVN as the nodal agency for Himachal Pradesh, along with Punjab and Arunachal Pradesh.
With ambitious targets in sight, SJVN is steadfastly progressing towards its New Mission of achieving 12,000 MW by 2026 and its Shared Vision of reaching 25,000 MW by 2030, ultimately aiming for an installed capacity of 50,000 MW by 2040.
