Manali/Keylong: The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has once again proved that if it’s there, the impossible becomes possible.
The strategic Manali-Leh Highway has now been opened for light vehiciles through Vasisth Chowk (Samahan) near Manali, just ahead of the Tibetan Colony from September 9.
Meanwhile, restoration work is in full swing on the Katarain stretch to reconnect the Kullu-Manali section. For now, road connectivity to Manali has been restored from the Keylong side, bringing relief to stranded locals and tourists. But the highway is yet to be thrown open to all types vehicles after September 10 as the weather has cleared and BRO and NHAI and PWD have sped the work.
