Pratibha Singh in Rampur

Shimla: Congress President Pratibha Singh, also  Member of Parliament from Mandi, began her campaign in support of her son and Congress candidate, Vikramaditya Singh, in the remote areas of Rampur constituency.

Speaking to the gathered crowds, she said that the Congress party's commitment to development in Himachal Pradesh, initiated by the late Virbhadra Singh, was undeniable, without any bias.

She accused the BJP of neglecting the needs of the people in remote areas.

Singh criticized the BJP for opposing initiatives like the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), which provided crucial income opportunities for rural women.

She also condemned the BJP for resisting the payment of a minimum price of Rs. 45 per liter of milk to women engaged in dairy farming.

Despite BJP's resistance, Singh claimed that the Congress government in the state successfully implemented schemes benefitting women.

She urged the people to reject the BJP and support Vikramaditya Singh, the Congress candidate from Mandi Lok Sabha constituency.

Singh promised that if the Congress forms the government at the Centre, every woman in the country will receive an annual amount of one lakh rupees, and the promise of providing 30 lakh jobs to youth will be fulfilled.

The campaign witnessed the participation of hundreds of women and youth from villages like Jhagori, Ghanvi, Kut, Kyaun, Jyuri, and Badhal.

Singh also took a dig at the BJP leadership, accusing them of neglecting the interests of the common people.

The event in Rampur saw the presence of Nand Lal, the chairman of the 7th Finance Commission and local MLA, Chandraprabha Negi, the president of the district council, along with other Congress leaders.
