DHARAMSHALA: During the nomination program of Congress Party candidate Devindra Jaggi from Dharamshala Assembly constituency, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu made some strong accusations against a former MLA and BJP candidate Sudhir Sharma alleging involvement in land scams.
Addressing a large gathering, the Chief Minister emphasized that the current Congress government is focused on serving the common people.
He highlighted various welfare schemes being implemented without any demands from the public, such as the Chief Minister Sukhashraya Yojana and financial assistance for various groups.
The Chief Minister criticized the previous BJP government, stating that they had depleted the state's treasury and failed to secure funds from the Centre during disasters.
He accused BJP leaders of neglecting affected families and focusing solely on political gains.
Regarding the allegations against the former MLA, the Chief Minister claimed that during his tenure as the Urban Development Minister, the MLA was involved in illegal land acquisitions. He accused the MLA of prioritizing personal gain over public service, labeling them as a "land mafia."
Furthermore, the Chief Minister alleged that the former MLA engaged in horse-trading during Rajya Sabha elections, receiving briefcases of money to influence voters. He pledged to expose the alleged corruption within ten days.
In support of the Chief Minister's statements, Congress candidate from Kangra Lok Sabha seat, Anand Sharma, stated, "This election is about saving democracy, not just about saving the CM or the government."
He emphasized the need to reject candidates who prioritize personal gain over public welfare.
