SHIMLA: Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur continued his spree of “inaugurations and announcements"  in Nalagarh in Solan district today and trained his guns at the opposition Congress charging that state Congress is a divided house queering the pitch ahead of the coming state assembly elections due this year.

Addressing a public meeting at Panjehra in Nalagarh, Chief Minister announced opening of BDO Office at Ramshahar, upgradation of CHC Ramshahar to 50 bedded CHC, opening of Fire sub- atation at Ramshahar and upgradation of CHC Nalagarh to 200 bedded Civil Hospital. He also announced opening of ITI at Andhrola, opening of PHC at Doli and upgradation of Health Sub Centre Panjehra to Primary Health Centre to woo the voters.

Chief Minister said that Rs. 225 crore inauguration and foundation stone for Nalagarh  show  that the  Government cares for the area.  Rs. 5.60 crore Nalagarh bus stand is one of the biggest bus stands of the state and would ensure smooth plying of buses, he added.

He said the Nalagarh area was the first area of the State which provided lead of over 40,000 votes in the last Lok Sabha elections. Congress leaders even politicized sensitive issue of Corona virus vaccine.  "State today has over 50 oxygen plants as compared to only two during the Congress tenure and there were only 50 ventilators in the State when the pandemic broke out, whereas today the State has over 1000 ventilators", he said

Chief Minister said that over 53 lakh masks were prepared by the women in the State and distributed free of cost to the needy. The doctors, paramedical staff, Asha Workers, Anganwari workers and other frontline workers played a major role in tackling this situation. It was due to the indigenous vaccine provided free of cost by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi that today the Nation and the State was gradually coming out from this situation, he said.

Jai Ram Thakur claimed that Congress Party has virtually lost its base in the entire country. The state Congress here is also a divided house, he charged.  Thakur brought all local BJP leaders  and officialdom on board to put up a show of strength and development before the crowd of Nalagarh.

Unfazed by BJP’s debacle in last bypolls on four seats, which were won by Congress,  Thakur cited example of UP where Congress could win only two seats, which speaks of the popularity of the BJP and complete rejection of the Congress by the people of the country.

Chief Minister cited various schemes launched by him during his four years long tenure,  saying that main focus of the Government is to provide benefit of government schemes to the persons living at the lowest ebb. He said that 7.50 lakh beneficiaries would now benefit from Old Age Pension Schemes and an amount of Rs. 1,300 crore would be spent. Gender Budget statement has been presented for the 1st time along with other budget documents, he added.

Chief Minister went on to count the hikes made during his tenure to  monthly honorarium of Anganwari Workers, Anganwari Assistant and Asha workers, sewing teachers, mid-day meal workers, Water Carriers, Jal Rakshak, Multi-Purpose Workers, Para fitters and Pump Operators. He also cited other social welfare measures launched for the poor

Industries Minister Bikram Singh said  the Medical Devices Park is coming up in the area which would give big boost to the development of the area. He said the Government would sympathetically consider waiving off penalty being imposed on trucks of operators.

Former MLA K.L. Thakur urged the Chief Minister for redressing various issues related to Truck Unions. Several prominent people of the area left the Congress and joined BJP in presence of the Chief Minister.
