SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee President Pratibha Singh on Friday lambasted the Jai Ram Thakur government for jeopardising the future of over 70,000 candidates by cancelling the police recruitment test. The government has failed to conduct the recruitment test fairly, she charged.
Addressing the press conference here on Friday, after she assumed her new charge at the Rajeev Gandhi Bhawan, Pratibha Singh called upon the Congress workers and leaders to work as a team to create synergies for ousting the BJP regime in the coming assembly elections.
She also convened meeting with the senior Congress leaders including co-incharge Sanjay Dutta, leader of opposition Mukesh Agnihotri, working presidents Harsh Mahajan, Vinay Kumar, Rajinder Rana, Pawan Kajol and other officer bearers to coin strategy for the coming elections.
She said she would tour the state and will have wide consultation and appointing new office bearers and block presidents for speedier functioning of the party apparatus in the state.
Taking a dig at the Jai Ram Thakur’s government Pratibha Singh said the government's decision to cancel the written examination of police recruitment was unfortunate. It is a grave injustice to the candidates who worked hard for this examination, she charged.
Pratibha Singh said the youth are facing the brunt of the negligence of the administration and the state government, which is very sad. Such Things never happened during the Virbhadra Singh Regime in the state, she claimed.
Future of Youth Bleak under Present Government
Pratibha Singh said that for the last two years, about 70 thousand youth had worked hard for this police recruitment test. But their hard work has gone down the drains due to the decision of the government to cancel this test just because the government failed to conduct the examination in a fair manner, she charged.
Expressing her concern about the future of those youth who are getting over age for this recruitment, Pratibha Singh said those unemployed youth have to pay for the shortcomings of the government. The youth are working day and night for employment, but their hard work has gone waste, she pointed out.
Give Extra Chance to Candidates
Pratibha Singh has asked the government not to play with the future of unemployed youth in the state.
A special chance should be given to those youths who are getting over-aged. “Strict measures should be put in place so that such thing don’t recur in future and everybody gets a fair deal”, she demanded.
