CEO HP brand ambassador Ram Saran Negi of Kinnaur

SHIMLA : Election Commissioner of India's brand ambassador  106 years old Ram Saran Negi  has urged  55,92.828 electors, which includes 67559 service electors, 22 NRIs and 55,25,247 general electors to exercise their votes to chose their 68 MLAs in the upcoming general elections for Legislative Assembly of the Himachal Pradesh on November 12. 

ECI   has roped in its brand ambassador Ram Saran Negi to make the voting percentage higher this time.  

According to Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Maneesh Gar, out of total 55,92,828 electors, 27,37,845 are female, 28,54,945 male and 38 were third gender.

He said that during the continuous updation period upto last date of filing of nominations on October 25, 23034 additions and 4157 Form-8 have been updated.

These also include 753 additions through Form-8 due to migration.

The average electors per polling station is 701 in the state, he added.

CEO said that due to the continuous efforts of Election Commission of India (ECI), as many as 500 new persons with disability have been added to make the electoral process more accessible and inclusive.

This in turn has taken the number of PwD  to 56501 in the state.

Besides 1.93 Lakh voters between 18-19 years have been added, he said.

ECI has also set up 156 ideal polling stations to provide facilities to the Divyang and other electors to  make democracy vibrant and all the more participatory in Himachal Pradesh.
