Shimla: BJP general secretary and political advisor to the Chief Minister Trilok Jamwal said after nearly 40 years, development plan has been prepared for Shimla city under which houses can be constructed in core and non-core areas without cutting trees.
In a statement issued here today Jamwal said after the NGT's decision on November 6, 2017, there was a ban on all types of construction work in the core area of the city, while only two and a half storey-building were allowed in the non-core area. Now exemption will be given in the core area as well, he said.
He said BJP shows it by doing what it says and the work which was not done in the last 40 years. The government has prepared a new development plan for the construction of shops, commercial complexes and hotels in the core area and non-core area besides residential buildings in the capital city, he added.
Soon this plan will also be passed by the cabinet, it is the result of farsightedness of urban development minister Suresh Bhardwaj.
He said the new development plan was prepared on the orders of NGT. And after the ban of NGT in November 2017, a petition is also pending in the state High Court. He said that there is a provision in the Act of TCP that each city should be planned separately, it is called GSI under Amrut scheme.
According to the new plan, three-storey plus parking and attic can be constructed in non-core area, while two-storey plus parking and attic can be constructed in core area, one floor plus attic can be constructed in green area without cutting trees. Will get
He said that in 2002, some areas have been marked as green areas and where one floor plus attic can be constructed. The residents of the city will get relief from the new development plan and the public will get the benefit of it.
