SOLAN: In a fiery speech at an election rally in Kasauli assembly constituency, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, slammed the BJP for what he called 'horse-trading politics' in Himachal Pradesh.
He accused the BJP of betraying the state's culture by engaging in unethical political maneuvers, pointing fingers at the defection of six Congress MLAs to the BJP camp.
Sukhu minced no words, urging voters to put an end to this 'horse-trading' trend by punishing the BJP at the polls.
He emphasized that while the Congress may lack financial muscle, its strength lies in its manpower.
He painted the upcoming elections as a battle for democracy, vowing that voters would teach the BJP a lesson by ensuring a clean sweep of Lok Sabha seats for the Congress.
The Chief Minister didn't stop there; he took aim at the BJP's alleged neglect of disaster-affected families, contrasting it with his own adherence to 'Rajdharma'.
He criticized BJP leaders for turning their backs on those in need during times of crisis, claiming that while he sought aid for the affected, the BJP remained indifferent.
Adding fuel to the fire, Sukhu targeted specific BJP leaders, including Shimla MP Suresh Kashyap, accusing them of failing to provide essential support to disaster-stricken communities.
He rallied support for Congress candidate Vinod Sultanpuri, promising to prioritize the development of Kasauli assembly constituency if Sultanpuri emerges victorious in the Lok Sabha elections.
Meanwhile, Congress candidate from Mandi Vikramaditya Singh echoed Sukhu's sentiments, emphasizing the importance of voting for the Congress party to safeguard the state's interests.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the achievements of his government, citing significant revenue gains and the implementation of various welfare schemes benefiting marginalized groups.
He took pride in clearing employee arrears and restoring old pension schemes, while lamenting BJP obstructionism in securing central funds.
