Mandi, August 2: A mild earthquake measuring 3.1 on the Richter scale jolted Mandi district on Sunday morning, triggering tremors in parts of the region.

According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), the earthquake occurred at 9:13:18 AM IST, with its epicentre located 17 km south-southeast of Mandi at a depth of 8 km.

 

The tremor was of low intensity and there were no immediate reports of loss of life or damage to property.

 

The earthquake comes amid continuing seismic activity in Himachal Pradesh, underscoring the vulnerability of the Himalayan state to earthquakes.
