SHIMLA — In a major relief for tourists planning a hill getaway and apple growers amid peak harvest season, Himachal Pradesh is set to experience clear and dry weather over the coming week, according to the state Meteorological Centre’s latest bulletin.
Meteorological officials confirmed that no severe weather alerts have been issued for any of the 12 districts across the state through September 26.
Dry conditions will dominate the plains, mid-hills, and high-altitude regions, with only light, isolated rainfall expected in isolated patches toward September 25 and 26.
An official from the Meteorological Department said that day and night temperatures across the state will remain steady over the next three to four days.
"Minimum temperatures will hover between 5°C and 12°C in high-hill areas, providing pleasant mornings and a noticeable autumn chill, while daytime temperatures in popular mid-hill destinations like Shimla, Manali, and Dharamshala will remain comfortable between 24°C and 31°C," the official added.
Lower plains and hill bases like Una will see highs ranging from 29°C to 35°C.

Visitors heading to high-altitude zones are advised to pack light woolens, as night temperatures in areas like Kukumseri have already dipped to a crisp 4.6°C.
For Apple Farmers: The dry stretch comes as a huge boost for fruit growers across Shimla, Kullu, Mandi, and Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti.
Unbroken sunshine provides optimal conditions for picking, grading, and transporting the remaining apple crop down to plains markets without risk of moisture damage or transit delays.
With the southwest monsoon line retreating rapidly, Himachal Pradesh is sliding smoothly into autumn—offering safer travel routes for vacationers and a ideal window for agricultural harvesting.
