Union Minister had a virtual meeting from Delhi with the state ministers on availability of fertilizers in all states.
Kanwar apprised the Union Minister of the availability of fertilizers in the state. The latter assured him of the smooth supply of fertilizer to Himachal Pradesh.
Meanwhile Sanjay Chauhan leader of the Kisan Sangharsh Samiti and the former Shimla mayor said the farmers are facing an acute shortage of fertilizers as their mixing and application time is drying up. HIMFED go downs are empty and farmers are in panic making rounds every day, he said.
He demand that the government should procure fertilizers immediately so that the farmers do not suffer. The subsidies on fertilizers should be restored as its cost has surged to an unaffordable limit for the last five years for the farmers in the state, he demanded.
