BJP Demands Ouster of Pakistani Nationals from Himachal After Pahalgam Terror Attack

SHIMLA – In the aftermath of the barbaric terrorist attack in Pahalgam’s Besaran Valley, where 26 innocent pilgrims were killed, the Himachal BJP has come out strongly, demanding the immediate identification and expulsion of all Pakistani nationals residing in the state — whether legally or illegally.

Leading BJP leaders including Dr. Sikander Kumar, Rasmidhar Sood, Vivek Sharma, and others submitted a memorandum to the Solan District Magistrate, citing the central government’s recent order under the Foreigners Act, 1946. They referred to Union Home Ministry directive No. 25022/28/2025-F.I., dated April 25, which mandates suspension of all Pakistani visa services and deportation of Pakistani nationals in a time-bound manner.

“This isn’t the time for silence or softness. The Pahalgam massacre was carried out by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists with clear links to ISI and the Pakistani military. Himachal cannot be a safe haven for any Pakistani citizen in these circumstances,” the leaders said.

The BJP's demand comes in sync with the Modi government's tough response — including scrapping the Indus Waters Treaty and cutting diplomatic ties with Pakistan. The party has made it clear that states must act decisively and in coordination with the Centre.

The BJP leaders warned that any delay or laxity in this matter would be seen as compromising national security. “Terrorists don’t just attack borders, they attack faith and unity. Himachal must respond with zero tolerance,” they said.
