Shimla: SJVN, via its subsidiary SGEL, has finalized a Power Usage Agreement (PUA) with Jammu & Kashmir Power Corporation Limited (JKPCL) for 300 MW of solar power.
This agreement stems from the under-construction 1000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project in Rajasthan, being developed by SJVN at a cost of Rs 5,491 crores.
Scheduled for commissioning by July 2024, the project operates under the Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) mode.
The power generated will cater to government entities, directly or through Discoms.
The agreement was formalized in Jammu by Sh. Ajay Kumar Singh, CEO of SGEL, and senior officials from both entities.
CMD SJVN Geeta Kapoor said SJVN is steadfast in its pursuit of its Shared Vision, aiming for 25,000 MW by 2030 and 50,000 MW by 2040, in tandem with India's commitment to non-fossil fuel energy sources.
