DEHRADUN: Intensifying its crackdown on narcotics under Operation Prahar, Dehradun Police on Tuesday arrested three alleged drug smugglers in separate operations across the city and seized 20.06 grams of illegal smack worth nearly ₹6 lakh in the black market.

Acting under the leadership of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), police teams carried out coordinated raids in different police station areas, leading to the arrest of the three accused involved in the illicit drug trade.

According to police, the recovered smack has an estimated street value of around ₹6 lakh, and the accused have been booked under relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Officials said the action is part of Dehradun Police's sustained campaign to dismantle the drug supply network operating in the city.

Investigators are now probing the backward and forward linkages of the arrested smugglers to identify the source of the contraband and uncover the larger trafficking network.

Police reiterated that Operation Prahar will continue with intensified surveillance and raids to eliminate the narcotics menace, warning drug peddlers that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found involved in the illegal trade.
