SHIMLA: As many as 1241 candidates- 883 men, 269 women and 89 male drivers- will be donning khaki on September 7 as they have been selected for post of constable in the HP police department.
The police constable recruitment had run into a series of controversies after the paper leakage scam hogged the headlines, with Congress and AAP questioning the Jai Ram Thakur government’s probity in recruitment of police personnel under the police department’s committee.
They had alleged that BJP government subverted recruitment rules as the competent authority for conduct of test/examinations was the service selection board, not the police department.
The state government was forced to cancelled the test and retest was conducted under strict surveillance.
DGP police has finally released the list of the candidates stating that 1241 candidates including 135 Ex-Servicemen have been selected for the posts of constable.
The written examination for 1334 posts of constables in Himachal Pradesh Police was conducted on 03.07.2022.
All the candidates who qualified the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) completed on 03.03.2022 were eligible to appear in the written test. 2.
As many as 69405 candidates had appeared for the written test, out of which 12336 candidates passed the written examination in which 9629 were male and 2707 were female, said the police.
Now t1241 candidates ( 883 males, 269 females and 89 male drivers have been finally selected will don Khaki September 7 when they will get their letter of appointment.
All District Superintendents of Police will provide the relevant record to the Commandants of Bn./IRBns for issuance of appointment letters to the selected candidates.
Director General of Police, Sanjay Kundu has congratulated and welcomed the selected candidates for their selection/appointment in the Police Department.
