CHAMBA: Even after over 12 days, there is no end to miseries for over 37 families of remote flood-hit Karghat village in Kakrotighata area of Siunhta sub-division in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh.
Even as Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur reached out to the members including children of the 37 families on August 29, but dark future stares at them ahead of the coming winter months.

The family members rued that the flash flood and landsides have wiped out their cultivable land and their houses have developed cracks.
Local MLA from Bhatiat Bikram Jaryal vacated their houses due to the security issues and allotted them tents away from the flood battered village on August 18.
“We used to the grow crops in our land, but this land has been washed away in the landslides”, resented Suka Ram and Desraj, who along with their families have been living in tents since August 18.
