PWD mInister with PWD staff at Theog

Shimla- In a feat, PWD readied a bailey bridge within a record six days time, restoring traffic on National Highway-5 to Upper Shimla, Kinnaur and Anni areas of Kullu district today, bringing relief to the travelling public.

The project was undertaken after heavy rainfall caused a significant portion of the road near Theog to sink, inconveniencing commuters.

Public Works Department (PWD) worked tirelessly to construct the bailey bridge.

Today, Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh personally inspected  and opened the bridge for traffic on the national highway.

Singh expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the PWD, commending them for accomplishing the construction within such a short timeframe.

He also stated that the PWD officials have been instructed to construct a retaining wall promptly to stabilize the affected portion of the road and find a permanent solution to this bottleneck.

He emphasized the importance of efficient infrastructure development to ensure smooth transportation for the public.
