Anand Sharma filing his nomination from Kangra today in Dharamshala

DHARAMSHALA: Anand Sharma, a seasoned Congress leader, has made his electoral entry from Kangra, a move that's being viewed with bated breath in Trigart. He filed his nomination here today promising new projects for Kangra and Chamba,  taking swipe at the BJP on Agniveer scheme and the delayed railway projects. 

Speaking on the occasion Sharma said Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)  10 years old regime must be made accountable now.

BJP leaders in Kangra continued to face criticism for their focus on the Pathankot-Jogindernagar railway track bridge project, with little to show for their efforts, he said.

However, due to their failures, the rail service in the Kangra Valley has suffered a setback.

Speaking on the matter, Anand Sharma, who filed his nomination from the Kangra Lok Sabha seat in Dharamshala slammed the  Agniveer scheme, stating that our nation will have to pay a hefty price. 

He underscored the non-partisan nature of the military, asserting that the armed forces are the pride of our nation and should never be politicized."

After three years of service our youth would face bleak future with no benefit and no martyrdom in case they become Shahid, he said.

Anand Sharma made a connect with Kangra electorate as lakhs of serving and ex-servicemen come from Kangra region. 

He said Chamba will a  national institution of the  likes of IIT  Mandi and NIFT Dharamshala. 

Known for his astute political acumen and intellect, Sharma's decision to contest from Kangra  is both challenging and unpredictable.  

With a distinguished career in politics spanning decades, Sharma has held several significant positions within the Congress party and the government and played positive role  in parliament as Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha. 

His tenure as a Union Minister and his contributions to various policy domains have earned him respect across party lines. 

Accompanied by Pradesh Prabhari Rajiv Shukla, Pradesh Adhyaksh Pratibha Singh, and Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri, Asha Kumari, Ministers  Chander Kumar, Ashish Butail, Bhawanin Singh Pathania, Kewal Pathania, and  MLAs  from Kangra  Sharma filed his nomination amidst a sea of enthusiastic supporters in Kangra.

The presence of these leaders  and keen Congress workers further solidifies Sharma's candidacy and reflects the party's unified front against the BJP.

CM Sukhu, buoyed by the overwhelming support witnessed during the nomination filing, expressed confidence in Sharma's ability to connect with the people of Kangra.
