TTR Survey Unveils Traffic Plan to Ease Congestion During VVIP Visits in Shimla..
SHIMLA: IN a proactive move to address traffic congestion during VVIP visits, the Traffic Tourist and Railway department (TTR) of Himachal Pradesh conducted a comprehensive survey to devise a strategic traffic plan for Shimla, the capital city.
Led by Additional Superintendent of Police, TTR, Narvir Rathore and a dedicated team comprising one Sub-Inspector, two Assistant Sub-Inspectors, and one Constable, the survey aimed to assess the current situation of vehicles parked outside VVIP routes.
The survey meticulously documented the parking scenario along various key routes, identifying hotspots of congestion and hindrances to traffic flow. From Charabra to Shoghi, each route was scrutinized, with detailed observations on vehicle parking patterns and their impact on commuter convenience.
The findings of the survey underscored the pressing need for enhanced parking facilities and stricter enforcement of parking regulations.
The report highlighted the challenges posed by haphazardly parked vehicles, causing traffic jams and inconvenience to commuters, especially during VVIP visits.
In response to the survey, DGP Atul Verma proposed a series of proactive measures to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance the overall commuting experience in Shimla:
1. Increase Parking Facilities: The construction of additional parking lots along main travel routes to accommodate the influx of vehicles during VVIP visits.
2. Enforce Parking Regulations: Strict enforcement of parking regulations to prevent illegal parking and ensure smooth traffic flow.
3. Public Awareness Campaign: Conduct awareness campaigns to educate vehicle owners about the importance of parking responsibly and adhering to parking regulations.
4. Traffic Management:** Improve traffic management measures to minimize congestion and ensure the safety of commuters during VVIP visits.
The proactive approach taken by the TTR department, with suggestions from DGP Atul Verma, reflects their commitment to ensuring smooth traffic flow and safety during VVIP visits.
By implementing the recommendations outlined in the survey, Shimla can expect improved traffic management and a more seamless commuting experience for residents and visitors alike.
