Shimla: Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) Employee Coordination Committee, during its meeting in Shimla, condemned the management's apathy towards the legitimate demands of employees.
The meeting, chaired by Chief Advisor Samr Chauhan and attended by President Man Singh, Vice President Khem Chand, Secretary Khemendra Gupta, Spokesperson Harish Parashar, Treasurer Jagdish Chand, and others, unanimously expressed solidarity with the HRTC pensioners' welfare organization.
The committee unequivocally endorsed the proposed demonstration on December 21, 2023, at the Vidhan Sabha premises in Dharamshala during the legislative session. They demanded urgent dialogue between the HRTC management and the HRTC Pensioners' Welfare Organization to address the pensioners' issues comprehensively.
Expressing deep concern, the committee highlighted that while discussions with employee organizations were ongoing, the resolution of issues seemed elusive. The problems are escalating daily, and the management appears to be deflecting rather than resolving them.
The committee urged the state government and corporation administration to promptly engage in dialogue with the HRTC Pensioners' Welfare Organization to find lasting solutions, preventing pensioners from unnecessary struggles in their twilight years.
The committee also emphasized the need for immediate action on previously agreed-upon demands from recent coordination meetings. They called for a swift resolution of outstanding issues to alleviate the growing discontent among HRTC employees.
Furthermore, a decision was made to dispatch a team of coordination committee officials to visit each HRTC unit, aligning with employee demands.
This move aims to expedite the formation of coordination committees in units, addressing concerns at the grassroots level.
The employees say that the mounting frustration within the HRTC workforce, place responsibility squarely on the HRTC management for the street protests.
The committee implores the authorities to heed the grievances promptly, ensuring a harmonious work environment and averting unnecessary confrontation.
