Una: In a move aimed at better management and protection of migrant workers in the district, Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal has issued a notification under Section 163 of the BNSS.
This directive mandates all employers, contractors, house owners, and religious organizations to register all migrant laborers and others associated with their establishments at the local police stations.
With a large number of migrants entering the district for employment opportunities, the notification emphasizes the need for thorough registration to ensure their welfare and safety in the community.
In line with this initiative, the Deputy Commissioner has directed all Station House Officers (SHOs) and Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) to oversee the implementation of this order.
DC Jatin Lal stated, “This step is crucial for the welfare of migrant workers and aims to streamline their access to services and support. We urge all employers, contractors, house owners, and organizations to comply promptly with the registration process.”
The local administration is committed to fostering a safe and secure environment for all workers, reinforcing their rights and ensuring their well-being.
This notification marks a proactive approach by the district administration to address the needs of the migrant workforce, ensuring they are recognized and registered, which is essential for their protection and support in the community.
