NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the NDTV World Summit 2024 in New Delhi, highlighted India's progress and innovations in the face of global challenges.

He praised India’s ability to spread hope despite global concerns such as inflation, unemployment, and geopolitical conflicts.

This is all the more so as Bharat is now empowered with double AI: Aspirational India and Artificial Intelligence, Modi said

“Today, India is working with unprecedented speed in every sector," he said, adding that India’s growth is driven by 140 crore people working towards a developed nation.

Modi emphasized India's unique position as both a developing country and an emerging power, with advancements in digital infrastructure playing a key role.

He shared his discussions with global figures like Kaul, who praised India’s digital innovations such as Aadhaar and Digilocker. “India has shown the world a new path by democratizing technology,”

Modi said, pointing to UPI, which enables over 500 million daily digital transactions, driven not by corporates but by small shopkeepers and street vendors.

The Prime Minister also highlighted India’s efforts to transform logistics through platforms like PM Gati Shakti and innovations in online retail via ONT CIPET.

He reiterated that India’s approach to technology is one of inclusion, transparency, and empowerment, unlike models focused on control and division.

Speaking about India's leadership in sustainability, Modi stressed that while India’s contribution to global climate change is minimal, the country is making green transitions a priority.

He cited initiatives like the PM Surya Hot Free Electricity Scheme, solar-powered airports, EV revolutions, and the ethanol blending program.

“Sustainability is at the core of our development planning,” he remarked, noting India’s efforts in global climate initiatives like the International Solar Alliance and the India-Middle East Economic Corridor.

Concluding his speech, PM Modi expressed his hope that India’s progress would benefit not just the nation but all of humanity.

"Our effort is that the 21st century becomes a century of victory for India and the world," he said, stressing India’s role in fostering global stability and peace.
