**ECI Approves 61 Proposals During Model Code of Conduct Period....
Shimla: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has approved 61 out of 77 proposals submitted by various government departments since the imposition of the Model Code of Conduct, according to a spokesperson from the State Election Department.
These proposals were evaluated based on their urgency and necessity, ensuring no political advantage was gained.
The spokesperson detailed that permissions were granted for promotions and postings across multiple departments, including the General Administration Department (GAD), Secretariat Administration Department (SAD), Police, Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Home, Jal Shakti Department, Health & Family Welfare, and Himachal Pradesh Public Work Department (HPPWD).
Additional permissions were also approved for transfers and joining requests in the Education Department for TGTs, Information and Public Relations, HPPWD, and the Revenue Department.
Significant approvals were given for the State Taxes and Excise Department to auction and allot liquor vends. The ECI also sanctioned resurfacing and tarring projects within Municipal Corporation limits in Shimla, along with inviting tenders for transporting food grains and essential commodities to tribal and inaccessible areas for 2024-25.
Further, open tenders were approved for transporting food grains from Food Corporation of India (FCI) godowns to Himachal Pradesh State Civil Supplies wholesale godowns and Fair Price Shops.
Major tenders concerning agricultural equipment, seeds, stationery for the High Court, biometric machines for the Urban Development Department, transport department supplies, educational dual desks, and materials for the General Industries Corporation were also sanctioned.
The ECI approved allowances for Judicial Officers, social security pensions for existing beneficiaries, outsourcing services of ex-servicemen, consultancy services for disaster management, and supplementary agreements for projects under the Swaran Jayanti Energy Policy 2021.
Additionally, funds were released under the Swachh Bharat Mission and the National Urban Digital Mission.
Permissions extended to the Pollution Control Board included processing consents for operating and renewing pollution certificates, and notifications for designating vending and non-vending zones in Solang special area. Parole permissions for convicts were also granted. Seven proposals were referred back for clarification or deferred.
