SHIMLA;   A step towards  a paperless governance, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu  asserted that the government would  digitize Himachal Pradesh's education department. The CM set a  target of achieving this milestone by 31st August this year.

Emphasizing the need for efficiency, he urges all government departments to adopt the e-office system and ditch traditional paper communication in favor of e-mails.

The move aims to expedite online file work and provide seamless citizen-centric services. AI is set to play a pivotal role in transforming governance and decision-making, he said during the meeting.

He said state government plans to leverage artificial intelligence to analyze data better, enhance career opportunities for the youth, and improve Himachal Online Sewa and CM Helpline services.

Presently, 184 citizen services from 34 departments and 71 services through Lok Mitra Kendras are already available to the public.

GIS mapping of schools and health institutions in Shimla district are  being piloted.

He said a comprehensive drone policy is in the works to regulate drone operations in various sectors, including agriculture, horticulture, and healthcare.

With a strong focus on efficient service delivery, a centralized call center for Mukhya Mantri Sewa Sanklap Helpline 1100 is on the horizon.
