Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Police has successfully decreased road accidents, fatalities, and injuries in the state during 2023 compared to the previous year.
The efforts led to 13% fewer accidents, a 14% decrease in fatalities, and a 12% reduction in injuries.

Various measures, including critical analysis of accident data, technology use in enforcement, and procurement of monitoring tools, have contributed to this success, said Deputy DG TTR Gurdev Sharma.
The police are actively carrying out challaning through Intelligent Traffic Management Systems, installing 18 more ITMS on state roads, and providing scientific gadgets to district police for effective traffic management.
The initiatives have resulted in a safer road environment, and the police encourage the public to adhere to traffic rules for everyone's safety.
