BL MLAs with HP CM Sukhu at Vidhan Sabha in Shimla

SHIMLA- Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha witnessed a special Bal Session on 'World Day against Child Labour,. On suggestions of Children Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu promised that they would hold special session on Yoga in Schools. 

The special session was  dedicated to raising awareness about child labour and empowering the younger generation.

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu lauded the participating children, acknowledging the rich historical heritage of the 98-year-old complex, which has borne witness to countless significant events.

During his address, the Chief Minister shared his own political journey, recounting how he commenced his career as a class representative at the tender age of 17.

He urged the youth to persevere, highlighting that hard work, sincerity, and dedication to public service were instrumental in his rise to the esteemed position of Chief Minister.

He emphasized that success cannot be achieved through shortcuts, urging aspiring politicians to seize opportunities and earnestly serve the nation.

Chief Minister assured the consideration of the children's suggestions, which included the introduction of yoga in schools.

He also highlighted the government's commitment to supporting orphaned children, disclosing that 6000 orphans had been adopted as 'Children of the State.' Moreover, he proudly announced that St. Stephen's College in Delhi had generously offered admission to three orphaned children from Himachal Pradesh.

Firmly dedicated to transforming Himachal Pradesh into a 'Green Energy State,' the government has allocated substantial provisions in the budget.

Chief Minister said children present would one day elect governments of their choice.

He cited the progressive measures undertaken by former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, who introduced constitutional amendments to reserve seats for women in Panchayati Raj Institutions and spearheaded the IT revolution in the country.

This served as a powerful reminder that change requires new thinking and persistent efforts.

Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Harivansh, stressed the significance of increasing youth participation in governance.

He highlighted ongoing efforts to engage young individuals in national development, emphasizing the necessity of their holistic growth to foster leadership potential. The children's session provided a remarkable platform for the younger generation to express their ideas and aspirations.

Kuldeep Singh Pathania, the Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha, announced that the Special Assembly Child Session took place in the historic Council Chamber. Notably, child legislators from across the nation participated in the event.

Pathania extended his congratulations to Jahnavi, who assumed the role of Chief Minister for the session, as well as to all the other enthusiastic participants.

The session, comprising dedicated question hour and zero hour proceedings, facilitated in-depth discussions on various topics of significance.

Prominent officials and ministers, including Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil (Health and Family Welfare Minister), Harshwardhan Chauhan (Industries Minister), Rohit Thakur (Education Minister), Vikramaditya Singh (Public Works Minister), B.D. Kalla (Education Minister, Rajasthan Government), as well as Chief Parliamentary Secretaries, Mohan Lal Brakta, Chaudhary Ram Kumar, and Sanjay Awasthi, were present at the event
