Mandi: In a recent development at IIT Mandi, a distressing incident of ragging involving B.Tech students and freshers has come to light. The institute has taken immediate and decisive action.

IIT Mandi's Anti-Ragging Policy, renowned for its effectiveness, was promptly activated. A dedicated committee was formed to investigate the incident, and it promptly notified the relevant authorities.

As a result of their investigation, disciplinary actions have been initiated against the 72 students involved in the ragging incident.

The punitive measures include fines ranging from Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 25,000, along with community service hours ranging from 20 to 60. Additionally, 10 students have been suspended from academics and hostel accommodations until December 2023.

IIT Mandi reaffirms its unwavering commitment to ensuring a safe and harassment-free environment for all students on campus. The institute encourages students to report any such incidents promptly to ensure swift corrective actions and prevent such occurrences in the future.
