Himachal Pradesh National Law University Commemorates International Labor Day with a Focus on Dignity of Labour
Shimla: Today, Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU) in Shimla observed International Labor Day with a resounding tribute to the theme of "Ensuring safety and health at work in a changing environment."
Led by Professor (Dr.) Chanchal Kumar Singh, the Acting Vice Chancellor, the event centered around the significance of dignified labor practices.
Under the overarching motto "Clean, Build, and Build," the university community, comprising students, faculty, and non-teaching staff, convened to honor the contributions of the working class and reflect on their enduring struggle for equitable wages and improved working conditions.
The festivities saw active participation from all segments of the HPNLU community, with a notable emphasis on hands-on engagement. A highlight of the event was the collective effort to enhance the university's surroundings, with the cleaning of campus premises, including classrooms and offices.
Additionally, the initiative extended to the beautification of the environment through the creation of flower beds and the planting of vibrant flora, symbolizing growth and renewal.
In a symbolic gesture of solidarity and appreciation, Professor Chanchal K. Singh, alongside Professor SS Jaswal, Registrar, faculty members, and non-teaching staff, spearheaded the celebrations, underscoring the university's commitment to fostering an ethos of respect and dignity for all forms of labor.
