HP Government-run HPTDC Seeks to Increase Business Outreach to Overcome Fund Crunch...
Shimla: In a bid to overcome its severe fund crunch, the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) has taken a bold step by deciding to open its doors to various educational and health institutions, schools, colleges, universities, banks and other organizations.
This move, spearheaded by Mr. Rajeev Kumar, the Managing Director of the corporation, aims to boost business and alleviate the financial crisis that has plagued HPTDC in recent years.
With units scattered across Shimla, Manali, Dharamshala, Bilaspur, and other locations, Mr. Kumar has directed managers to ramp up their efforts in increasing the corporation's business outreach.
Utilizing the vast network of public sector educational institutions and government services, HPTDC aims to generate more revenue streams.
To ensure compliance with these directives, managers are instructed to submit comprehensive reports, complete with photographs taken during promotional activities and discussions with officials of partnering organizations.
These reports are to be submitted on a weekly basis to the Marketing Manager of HPTDC, highlighting progress made in each unit.
The move comes as HPTDC faces stiff competition from the private hotel industry, necessitating innovative strategies to attract customers and boost revenue.
Mr. Kumar emphasizes the importance of timely progress reports to identify areas of improvement and implement productive measures to alleviate the corporation's financial woes.
The initiative signals a proactive approach by HPTDC to leverage partnerships with public sector entities and capitalize on untapped business opportunities.
With concerted efforts and strategic planning, the corporation aims to navigate through its financial crisis and emerge stronger in the competitive tourism market of Himachal Pradesh.
