Chandigarh: Acting on a complaint Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) has apprehended Anil Vij, a reporter hailing from Ludhiana, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1,00,000.
The VB's spokesperson revealed this news today, emphasizing that the reporter's arrest followed a complaint filed by Surinder Arora, a resident of Rishi Balamik Nagar, Ludhiana.
According to sources, the complainant accused Anil Vij of demanding a staggering bribe amounting to Rs. three lakh.
The bribe was reportedly requested in exchange for not demolishing a solid pathway on the complainant's agricultural land leading to his residence.

The VB swiftly responded to the complaint, recording the complainant's statement and setting up a well-executed sting operation.
Anil Vij was arrested red-handed by a VB team, with two official witnesses present, while receiving a bribe of Rs 1,00,000 from the complainant. A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the reporter.
