Shimla: Managing Director of M/s Sky Himalayas Ropeways Private Ltd, Amitabh Sharma, received the 'Letter of Award' for the development of the 1.1 km long passenger ropeway project at Mata Shree Chintpurni temple in Una district.
The award was handed over by Director Ropeways and Rapid Transport System Development Corporation Ltd. Himachal Pradesh, Ajay Sharma, in the presence of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in Dharamsala.
The Chief Minister announced that the 1.1-kilometer aerial ropeway would be constructed with a budget of Rs. 76.50 crore.
The modern transportation system aims to accommodate 700 passengers per hour in each direction, improving the overall pilgrim experience and generating direct and indirect employment opportunities for the local youth.
Highlighting the historical and spiritual significance of Chintpurni Temple in district Una, the Chief Minister emphasized that the ropeway would alleviate congestion and ensure safe movement of devotees.
He urged the company to complete the project within the stipulated time frame for the benefit of pilgrims and the local population.
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, Rural Development and Panchayats Raj Minister Anirudh Singh, Cabinet Minister Yadvinder Goma, Chairman H.P. Tourism Development Corporation Raghubir Singh Bali, Chief Parliamentary Secretaries Kishori Lal and Sanjay Awasthi, MLAs, and other dignitaries were also present at the event.
