SHIMLA: Health Minister, Col. Dr. Dhaniram Shandil, reached out to the grieving families of the Summerhill Shiv Bawdi accident victims today where 18 bodies have been retrieved from the flashflood- battered site near the HP university in the capital city.
In a solemn meeting, he offered his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, mourning the tragic loss of their loved ones.
Beginning with Amit Thakur's family, who lost their dear one in the unfortunate incident, Dr. Shandil extended his support by personally visiting and consoling them.
Health Minister visited the home of Sanju Thakur, who also met with tragedy in the accident. He visited Sanju's father, Mohan Thakur and expressed his sympathy and shared in their grief.
He also visited Neeraj Thakur's family, whose whereabouts remain unknown since the incident, Dr. Shandil assured them that the state government stands by their side during this difficult time.
He said 17 bodies have been recovered from the accident site, efforts are on to locate the remaining victims.
Dr Shandil directed the district administration to assess the location for potential hazards, ensuring the safety of people in the days to come.
He instructed the forest department officials to promptly identify and remove hazardous trees in the vicinity.
