SHIMLA: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has hailed the decision of the Supreme Court, granting a stay on the conviction of senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
He stated that this verdict reaffirms his faith in the judiciary and believes that truth has finally prevailed.
According to CM Sukhu, Rahul Gandhi had been vocal in Parliament against the Central Government's anti-people policies and divisive politics. In response, the Union Government allegedly conspired to politically target Rahul Gandhi and hinder his participation in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The Chief Minister said an effort was made to silence Rahul Gandhi, who had become the voice of the people after the success of his 'Bharat Jodo Yatra'.
His parliamentary membership was revoked by the Union Government, but the recent decision by the Supreme Court has provided him with relief, which the Congress party welcomes.
Sh. Sukhu expressed confidence that Rahul Gandhi would soon return to Parliament to advocate for the people of 'Bharat' against the opposition's tyrannical stance. He believes that this decision will facilitate the opposition's unity under Rahul Gandhi's leadership.
In the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Congress, in alliance with the united INDIA alliance, will exert its full efforts to combat the despotic policies of the BJP, led by Rahul Gandhi.
