New Delhi: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi along with Foreign Service Attachés from 39 friendly foreign countries, launched a dedicated website titled ‘Friends for Life’, aimed at strengthening long-standing bonds between Indian and foreign military professionals.
The digital platform has been designed as a bridge connecting generations of military leaders from 99 countries who have trained at various Indian Army training establishments over the years. It seeks to foster continued professional engagement, facilitate exchange of ideas and rekindle enduring friendships among Indian and foreign alumni.
Highlighting India’s growing role as a global hub for military training, officials said that in the last decade alone, the Indian Army has trained over 21,500 service personnel from Friendly Foreign Countries. Many of these officers now occupy key leadership positions in their respective armed forces.
With the launch of Friends for Life, the Indian Army aims to go beyond alumni networking by weaving a global web of professional friendships.
The initiative is expected to strengthen military institutions, enhance collaboration, improve interoperability and contribute to deeper defence cooperation among partner nations, reinforcing India’s image as a trusted and dependable military partner on the global stage.
