Addressing a massive public meeting at Kupvi, Chief Minister announced the JE sections of PWD, Jal Shakti and HPSEB limited at Balghar. He also announced opening of PHC at Kothi Halog and upgradation of PHC Chailla to CHC, upgraded the veterinary dispensary Pulbahal to veterinary hospital.
Striking an emotional chord with the slogan-shouting people in his support, Chief Minister compared Kupvi village with his home Tandi village, which once was also one the remotest in Mandi district. The degree college and SDM office will cater to people living in 15 gram panchayats in Kupvi area, who otherwise have to go to Chopal taking a day long journey.
On the promise of BJP Chopal MLA Balbir Verma that he would stand behind him like a rock, Thakur said he would not leave any stone unturned to develop Chopal. The crowd went in orgy of dance after Chief Minister made the announcements and Thakur performed Nati with the locals.
Chief Minister said the projects worth Rs 180 crore were dedicated and foundation stone was laid which will facilitate development. He said from the day one the Government ensured that no one was victimized politically and main focus was laid on development of the State.
Jai Ram Thakur accused the previous State Government for dividing the people of the State even on colour of the caps and ignored the development in hard areas. Seraj was a good example and now he represented it for the fifth time as he kept moving on developing the areas, he said.
He said that the very first decision of the State Government was aimed at welfare of the old people and the Government lowered the age limit for availing the benefits of the old age pension from 80 years to 70 years. He said that today lakhs of old people were being provided Rs. 1500 pension per month.
Chief Minister said that 3.25 lakh gas connections were provided to the eligible families under the Grihini Suvidha Yojana. 2.07 lakh families have been benefitted under the HIMCARE Yojana and under Mukhya Mantri Sahara Yojana, Rs. 3000 per month were being provided to family with a critically ill patients and about 17000 people has been registered under this scheme.
He directed the contractors to ensure that all the developmental works were completed well in time otherwise strict action would be taken against them. He appreciated the local MLA Balbir Verma for taking keen interest in development of the area.
Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated Rs. 3.46 crore 10 meter span bridge over Khaddar Nalla on Sainj -Chopal-Nerwa- Fedaj road, Rs. 56 lakh veterinary hospital building at Chopal, Rs. 8.04 crore road from Chapandli to Chilla, Rs.6.45 crore road from Reuni to Khagna, Rs.2 crore link road from Bhuthi to Punder.
Thakur opened the Rs. 1.85 crore primary health centre building at Ghorna, Balson, Rs. 2.10 crore bridge over Giri river on Theog-Hatkoti National Highway, Rs. 89 lakh GWSS C-Kiar Nerwa in tehsil Nerwa, Rs. 86 lakh lift water irrigation scheme to PC habitation and NC habitation Kiartua-II Shilli to GP Chanju tehsil Chopal, Rs. one crore lift water scheme Patial khad to village Sari.
Thakur opened Rs. 6.86 crore lift irrigation scheme for Kulag and Noura Boura in tehsil Gupvi, Rs. 3.01 crore lift irrigation scheme Thana under AIBP tehsil Chopal, Rs. 2.14 crore 22KV control point at Nerwa, Rs. 96 lakh replacement and strengthening of existing 22KV RMU with VCBs (22KV Control Point at Jhikanipull).
He opened the Rs. 9.22 crore integrated power development scheme Chopal town, Rs. 1.23 crore lift water scheme from Giri khad Karau to Dehandhar in tehsil Theog and Rs. 1.03 crore LWSS from Dwada khad to village Kharku in G.P. Kuthar.
Chief Minister laid foundation stones of Rs. 10.74 crore balance work and metalling and tarring of road Chanjalpul to Rewalpur Sihara, Jailly, G.P. Matal Batludhar Shilabha, Kula Batara, Rs. 8.55 crore upgradation and metalling and tarring of Marog to Gorli Teen Khamba Bulti Nallah.
He also laid foundation stone of the Rs. 52 lakh Charuadhar to Gaoncha road, Rs. 2.32 crore Government Senior Secondary School building at Nerwa, Rs. 1.71 crore Science Lab in Government Senior Secondary School, Tharoch, Rs. 2.32 crore girls hostel in government senior secondary school Chopal, Rs. 5.71 crore Shalowa Ghoond Kot Pargya road under NABARD, Rs. 62 lakh GSSS building at Damyana tehsil Theog, Rs. 82 lakh GSSS building at Neri Nagar tehsil Theog, Rs.1.85 crore GSSS building at Deothi tehsil Theog and Rs. 8.37 crore 62 meters span Bajrolipul bridge tehsil Theog.
Jai Ram Thakur also laid foundation stones of Rs. 17.44 crore LWSS to various habitations under IPH sub division Kupvi, Rs. 13.52 crore LWSS to various habitations under IPH Sub Division Chopal, Rs. 2.57 crore retrofitting of 28 ongoing completed GWSS/LWSS schemes under NRDWP in Chopal constituency to provide functional household tap connection under Jal Jiwan Mission.
He also laid foundation stone of Rs.2.44 crore retrofitting of 5 ongoing LWSS schemes under NRDWP in Chopal constituency to provide functional household tap connection under Jal Jeevan Mission, Rs. 23 lakh remodeling of GWSS Jai Grah, Sadrada, Dhankar, Mandal and Shilli etc. in G.P. Chanju, Rs. 2.63 crore for providing tap connections to various balance household of IPH sub-division Kupvi, Rs. 7.26 crore providing tap connection to various balance household of IPH sub division Nerwa, Rs. 90 lakh LWSS Douchi Lalpani HB Dhanout in Chanju panchayat, Rs. 45 lakh GWSS Duina Nallah to lower Batewari in Dewat and Rs. 2.21 crore FIS Kupvi in GP Juru Shalal.
Chief Minister performed foundation stones of Rs. 11.43 crore sewerage system for Chopal town, Rs. 1.96 crore LWSS from Giri khad to village Upper Banal Kehrali in Bagain panchayat, Rs. 90 lakh improvement of FIS Neri Maniana and FIS Deothi Patara in Deothi, Rs. 31 lakh LWSS Nehra khad to Shirgulli in Ghorna of tehsil Theog, Rs. 4.38 crore new police station building at Kupvi, Rs. 50 lakh police station Deha.
He said Chopal will get Rs. 9.07 crore cluster under Horticulture development project and Rs. 4.35 crore augmentation 66/22KV, 63 MVA transformer to 10 MVA at 66/22/11 Sainj sub-division and re-conducting of outgoing feeders (Pulbahal-Deha and Chhaila).
Balbir Verma while welcoming the Chief Minister in his home constituency said that being a far flung area, Kupvi needs special preference in matter of development. He said the road projects were hanging fire due to FCA clearance thus efforts must be made to get the clearances at the earliest so that road network in the area could be strengthened.
He said that developmental projects worth Rs 500 crore were being executed in Chopal Vidhan sabha area.
