For nine agonizing days, 41 laborers faced the harrowing time  after they were trapped in the tunnel on November 12. However, newfound hope has emerged as a lifeline for them as  their rescue unfolds.

The rescue team successfully laid a 53-meter-long secondary life line in the obstructed section of the tunnel by installing a 6-inch pipeline.

Until now, the lifeline for the stranded workers was a 4-inch pipeline, said Uttarakhand DGP AshokKumar.

With the addition of this secondary lifeline, measuring six inches in diameter, the mission gains a crucial advantage.

This development not only ensures the safety of the trapped laborers but also facilitates the smooth delivery of essential supplies, including food, medical supplies, and communication equipment.

The efforts to safeguard the lives of those stuck inside the tunnel have been further bolstered by the introduction of larger materials and alternative rescue options.

The entire community is urged to maintain patience and trust in the ongoing rescue operations, emphasizing the commitment to ensuring the safe extraction of the workers, DGP said.
