Chief Minister and his wife Kamlesh Thakur  handed over a cheque for Rs. 51 lakh to Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena at official residence Oak Over here today. This act of kindness and empathy has garnered apreciation from all corners of society.

Sukhu, deeply moved by the recent monsoon devastation that claimed over 260 lives and left countless others homeless and devastated, expressed his understanding of the people's pain and suffering.

He noted that during this trying time, the citizens of Himachal Pradesh rallied together, with people from all walks of life contributing voluntarily to the relief fund.

Many Children emptied their piggy banks, seniors forfeited their pensions, and government employees generously contributed from their salaries to bolster the Aapda Rahat Kosh, he said.

He not only donated his entire year's salary but also contributed an additional 11 lakh rupees to the State Relief Fund from his personal savings and fixed deposits—this commitment had continued even during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic when he donated his year's salary.

His example serves as a reminder that even in the face of adversity, humanity and compassion shine brightly, bringing solace and relief to those who need it the most.
