SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) has come under fire from the HP engineers for its "disruptive decisions" that has impeded the ongoing restoration efforts  following the flash foods in the state.

HP engineers claimed that recent directive of the HPSEBL to conduct even Rs 50000 tenders online has hindered crucial electricity restoration work.

The board's lack of a full-time managing director exacerbates the problem, leading to an adhocism-dominated management style.

HP Engineers Association General Secretary Tanuj  Gupta and President Lokesh Thakur  denounced the board's actions, criticizing their disregard for frontline workers' efforts despite Chief Minister's praises.

The board's questionable decisions in the past raise doubts about its capability to manage a crucial organization like the Electricity Board.

The Board is beating around the bush over implementation of OPS  despite the Chief Minister's promises that has further added to the management's questionable actions.

The board management's focus is on finding faults rather than improvements neglecting their responsibilities.

The board's failure to appoint over 55 engineers despite a shortage  in the board has added to the grouse of the engineers.

HPSEBL's adherence to regulations set by the Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission places the onus on the board management to represent its interests effectively.

Power engineers plan to appeal directly to the Chief Minister for the appointment of a regular Managing Director to ensure efficient functioning and prevent future problems.
