Pankaj Sharma from Sarog village in Theog has built one of Shimla’s fastest-growing IT companies.
Now he dreams of taking it to national and global heights.
Pankaj didn’t start big. His first venture was a YouTube channel promoting Pahari singers, which worked for a while. But it faded as new social media platforms took over.
That model worked for a while as singers and artistes started asking for paid promotions, he said. I gave up and concentrated on a brighter side of my IT skills and abilities, he added.
He refused to give up and went to Chandigarh to polish his technical skills.
He returned with a bigger dream and launched Gashwa Technologies. Gashwa, in Sarog, means one who lives at a higher portion of the village, symbolising elevation and aspiration.
In just five years, Gashwa has grown into a strong IT and digital services brand in Himachal.
Pankaj now leads a team of around 35 professionals. More than 50 students receive industrial training under him.
He is expanding his networks through BNI in Shimla as well. He has added many awards to his kitty. His reputation as a young achiever in Shimla is well-earned.
He is also a proud son who takes care of his mother and father with deep commitment and care as they need regular medical checkups.
He has involved his brother in the business as well. Together, the family stands behind the growing success of Gashwa.
Gashwa Technologies today offers nearly everything a modern business needs.
Its services span digital marketing, web and app development, SEO, branding, lead generation, CRM setup and automation.
The company also handles video creation, analytics, hosting and complete website maintenance.
His client base now extends to Australia, the US and other countries. But Pankaj wants to go further and build a much larger infrastructure in Shimla.
He aims to create more jobs, train more youth and push Gashwa to the national and global stage.
From a small YouTube venture to a rising tech brand, Pankaj Sharma’s journey is an inspiration.
He remains rooted in his village origins. Yet his ambitions—and achievements—reach far beyond the hills.
