SHIMLA: Shimla Police have achieved a major success   in their fight against the illegal narcotics trade by tracing ₹4.29 crore worth of illicit assets through financial investigations during 2026—the highest such recovery ever made in the district.

According to Shimla Police, the achievement reflects the growing emphasis on targeting the financial foundations of organised drug trafficking rather than limiting action to arrests alone.

Lauding the efforts of the SP Shimla, the members of the Civil society say rhat the other district police in Mandi, Kullu, Bilaspur and other districts should clue from Shimla team to take the crackdown against drug mafias to logical conclusion.

By following the money trail, investigators have identified assets allegedly acquired through proceeds of the illegal drug trade.

The  record recovery is the result of sustained efforts under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh, who has geared up the district police team to integrate financial investigation into every major narcotics case.

This strategy has enabled investigators to expose and act against the economic networks supporting drug traffickers.

The police maintained that dismantling the financial infrastructure of the narcotics trade is essential to delivering a lasting blow to organised crime.

They reaffirmed their commitment to pursuing both drug traffickers and their illegally acquired wealth as part of a comprehensive anti-drug campaign.
