Leader of the opposition and former CM Jai Ram Thakur was conspicuous by his absence, thereby sounding new permutations and combinations taking place in BJP in Himachal.
During the meeting, Mr. Thakur highlighted that the Modi government will complete nine years on May 30 and the BJP is actively seeking public support through public relations.
Mr. Satpal Satti, the MLA of Una, had been the state BJP president for the past nine years, and his guidance will continue to be valuable, he said.
Mr. Thakur said the Modi government's leadership has made anything possible, as the phrase "Modi hai to mumkin hai" (If Modi is there, then it's possible) resonates with every citizen.
He emphasized that if significant progress has been achieved in nine years, the country and Himachal Pradesh can achieve much more in the next five years.
Mr. Thakur mentioned that India is on track to become the world's third-largest economy within two years, and the prospects for the country after five years are even more promising.
Furthermore, Mr. Thakur criticized the Congress party for its divisive politics, corruption, and politics of appeasement.
He noted that despite ruling the country for several decades, the Congress has failed to connect with the people due to their lack of substantial achievements.
Mr. Thakur reminded the audience about the outcome of the 2019 general elections, where the Congress faced significant setbacks.
The Union Minister also spoke about infrastructure development projects in Himachal Pradesh.
He mentioned that the Kiratpur to Sundernagar road, which is currently 87 km long, will be shortened to 57 km, reducing the travel time from 3 hours 35 minutes to just 40 minutes.
Several tunnels will be constructed along this route. Additionally, efforts are being made to reduce the travel time from Kiratpur to Manali from 7 hours to a maximum of 3 hours.
The widening of the road from Hamirpur-Dharampur-Mandi, costing ₹1200 crore, has been contracted to Jalandhar. The road from Hamirpur to Bilaspur has already been widened at a cost of ₹300 crore.
Moreover, the distance between Mataur and Hamirpur-Bilaspur-Shimla, currently over 200 km, will be reduced to around 180 km, saving approximately 40 km and reducing the travel time from Shimla to Dharamshala from 6 hours to 3 hours.
Mr. Thakur highlighted the BJP's efforts to honor and respect Babasaheb Ambedkar, the architect of India's constitution, who was mistreated by the Congress.
He praised Prime Minister Modi for paying homage to Ambedkar in Nagpur, Mau, Mumbai, Delhi, and London, and establishing Panchteerth.
The Modi government also initiated the celebration of 26 November as Constitution Day and declared Ambedkar's birth anniversary, 14 April, as a national holiday.
Scholarships worth ₹7000 crore were provided to Scheduled Tribes, and various schemes of the Modi government have benefited Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward, and Minority families the most.
The BJP's core principle is "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, and Sabka Vishwas"
According to Mr. Thakur, true development has been achieved under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, unlike the Congress party's focus on politics rather than development.
